Following Netflix’s announcement of The Witcher season two’s arrival on December 17th, the first legit trailer has been released. Fans of the show have been teased with brief promos for weeks, but now they’re getting a real look at what’s next for the sword-swinging Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) and Cira (Freya Allen) now that they’ve finally crossed paths.
It took an entire season for them to come together, but now that Geralt and Cira are walking the same path, they’ll head to Kaer Morhen where she will get the same witcher training that he did. This was Geralt’s destiny all along, but based on this footage it won’t play out quite as he thought.
Anya Chalotra returns as Yennifer, along with Joey Batey, MyAnna Buring, Lars Mikkelson, Royce Pierson, Mimi Ndiweni, Terence Maynard, Wilson Radjou-Pujlate, Lilly Cooper, Anna Schaffer, and Jeremy Crawford. A major new addition to the cast is the former Tormund Giantsbane, Kristofer Hiuju, as Nivellen.
The Multiverse is truly taking over the MCU! With Loki and the upcoming What If? series showing many different versions of the characters we know and love, Funko has released some cool new Pops that are unlike any they’ve done before. If you were hoping for Gator Loki, you’ve got him.
Episode 5 Funkos for Loki include an older, classic version of the character as played by Richard E. Grant. We also get Tom Hiddleston’s President Loki, and Kid Loki as played by Jack Veal. Oh yeah, and Alligator Loki, too, which happens to be a Hot Topic exclusive. The classic Loki is a Box Lunch exclusive.

The What If? animated series features mixed-up versions of Marvel heroes, which makes for some pretty awesome Funkos. My personal favorite is the Captain Carter, which imagines if Peggy Carter took the Super-Soldier serum. There’s also the T’Challa Star-Lord, a jumbo-sized Hydra-Stomper/Iron Steve Rogers, Gamora daughter of Thanos, and Doctor Strange Supreme with an Amazon exclusive glow-in-the-dark variant.
Other exclusives include an awesome King Killmonger holding an Ultron head (!!!) which you can only get at Target, plus variants of T’Challa Star-Lord and Captain Carter. A Thor Wal-Mart exclusive is no longer available for preorder but should be soon.
Many of these are available for pre-order now. We highly recommend our friends at Entertainment Earth and Amazon for your Funko Pop! buying needs! Any commission that we earn from purchases through our affiliate links goes back into the site. We are a small group and every little bit helps. Thank you so much for all of your support!
What would you say if having a conversation with a notorious serial killer? What insight could you possibly get, sitting across from Ted Bundy? The film No Man of God poses such questions, with Elijah Wood playing FBI Agent Bill Hagmaier and Luke Kirby as the infamous Bundy in the final years before his execution.
The film is directed by Amber Sealey, an actress-turned-filmmaker who earned critical acclaim in 2016 for her third feature, No Light and No Land Anywhere.
There has been a lot of attention on Bundy’s crimes lately, especially on the big screen. Kirby’s performance as the murderer comes a couple of years after Zac Efron portrayed him in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. But based on this trailer, Kirby is bringing his own distinction to the role. If you had told me Elijah Wood was starring in a movie about Ted Bundy, I would’ve assumed him to play the serial killer part. It’s good to see him as the balanced side of this act.
Also starring Robert Patrick and Aleksa Palladino, No Man of God opens in theaters and digital on August 27th.
In 1980, Ted Bundy was sentenced to death by electrocution. In the years that followed, he agreed to disclose the details of his crimes, but only to one man. NO MAN OF GOD is based on the true story of the strange and complicated relationship that developed between FBI agent Bill Hagmaier and an incarcerated Ted Bundy in the years leading to Bundy’s execution.

A Barbie movie has been in the works for years, and always with a big star attached. Previously, Amy Schumer and Anne Hathaway have tried to get the iconic doll on the big screen to no avail, but it looks like Margot Robbie is finally going to make it happen because she’s landed Greta Gerwig to direct.
Robbie first revealed the news of Gerwig directing her in a live-action Barbie movie to British Vogue. Variety has now confirmed the info, adding that production will begin in early 2022.
Gerwig has actually been attached to Barbie for a couple of years as co-writer with Noah Baumbach. The speculation was that she would eventually step behind the camera, as well, but only now has it been made official.
Warner Bros. is throwing the big guns to make Barbie one of their key franchises. Filming will take place at the same London studios that produced the Harry Potter and many DCEU projects.
I can’t begin to imagine what Gerwig and Baumbach are going to do with Barbie. Will Ken be there? Will Barbie have her dream home and pink car? Look for Gerwig and Robbie to find something new to say that inspires this generation of young women and the next.
THE LONELIEST WHALE: THE SEARCH FOR 52 is a documentary quest written and directed by award winning filmmaker Joshua Zeman in his attempt to record any trace of the “52 Hertz” Whale. Zeman has been at the forefront of investigative documentaries for the past decade. His most recent work was the hit Netflix docuseries, The Sons of Sam: Descent into Darkness. His critically-acclaimed film Cropsey, a look into the disappearance of five children, is widely received to be a terrifyingly good horror documentary.
The Loneliest Whale is produced by Zeman, Jonathan Shukat, and co-produced by Caitlin Colford. Executive Produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson, Lucy Sumner, Adrian Grenier, Jim Jacobsen, Maria Bertrand, Gabriel Napora, Yas Taalat, Yipeng Ben Lu, Jeffrey Sobrato, Nicole Shipley, Jeff Rice, Brian Devine, and Evan Krauss.
Scientists believe that this one of a kind whale has spent its entire life in solitude. The song of this particular whale has a frequency very different from any other whale known in existence. The 52 Hertz Whale, aka “52” was originally discovered in 1989 by marine biologist Bill Watkins. Watkins figured out that the sound the Navy was picking up on was actually a whale and not a submarine. Most whales sing or communicate around a frequency of 20 Hertz. The unidentified yet, popularized lone whale has a unique song frequency of 52 Hertz. Thus, the name he/she was given. These songs are below the normal threshold of what humans can hear. Over the last 3 decades, “52” has become a global sensation capturing the hearts of fans around the world.
Fascinated by the ideal fantasy (like the novel by Herman Melville, Moby Dick, minus the revenge killing plot), Zeman gathers enough funding, a rag-tag team of scientists, some geriatric Navy sonar equipment (with some newer technology) and embarks on an engrossing 7 day journey to find “52”. Zeman and his team produce beautiful oceanic imagery, interview scientists/researchers, collect data from blue and fin whale pods and do their best to be as informative as can be regarding what little is known about this mysterious whale. This is the only film that set out in search of 52 since its initial discovery in 1989.
Viewers will explore what this whale’s lonely plight can teach us — not just about our changing relationship to the oceans, but to each other and the role we that pertains the oceanic ecosystem. Zeman succeeds at breaking open the discretion surrounding The Loneliest Whale but fails to fully recognize and comprehend the difficulties that keep this whale at a deliberate distance. That disappointment is not properly acknowledged but is clearly visible among the faces of Zeman and the team he embarks with.
My frustration grows with every obscene circumstance hindering their nautical quest that wasn’t devised ahead of time. It’s of no fault, nor secret that researchers and scientists are limited, if not deprived, of the proper tools, etc, to do thorough investigations as well as the vast magnitude of industrial ships occupying the sea. Given that commonly known tidbit of information, their adventure should’ve been planned for better preparation. It also goes to show that the majority of our global leaders are running a shit-show of the so-called “functioning” of this planet. Sinking all aspects of life and prohibiting that knowledge into a hellacious nonexistence!
Joshua Zemans quest to document The Loneliest Whale has well intentions but misses a great opportunity to expose the complicated and diminishing platform of understanding marine biology. Researchers, environmentalists, and scientists require time, funding, up-to-date equipment, and protection to garner answers entailing the oceanic subject matter. Rarely do any of those necessities which, especially these days, are ever granted to those just trying to do the right thing. Nor was there any guidance on how or what, we the viewers, could do to help. Even if that meant reaching out to political affiliates/outlets to attract attention to donating funds. Sadly, those potential requests could have been but were not addressed.
Even when these science/environment groups are finally able to get to sea, they are severely overshadowed by the gargantuanism of the global, trillion dollar corporate shipping industry. Collecting data is nearly impossible and/or may take several attempts over what could be, a lengthy period of time. The oceanic ecosystem that marine life survives on is drastically interrupted, if not destroyed. Most countries are not interested in producing laws and/or regulations to protect our oceans either. It’s no real wonder as to why “52” (and who knows what other species and areas are out there) haven’t exactly been found. Although admirable, Zeman is way over his head. I don’t think he quite comprehends the complexity for the thought that this beloved task could be so easily explored.
As for “52”, there is good news. Despite all the setbacks, Zeman and the team he journeys with were able to collect some vital information. It is learned that this unique whale is not as lonely as most think/believe. “52” is known to travel with other pods, such as fin and blue whales so, he/she is never really alone. A DNA test taken by scientists hypothesized that he/she may even be a hybrid of both.
It is also discovered that the “52” whale song can be heard in two different locations at close to the same time. To researchers, scientists, Zeman and to viewers, this implies that there may be more than one of these hybrid whales and are ecstatic about this new insight. Unfortunately, trying to acquire the ability to dive further into this may take years, if not longer. Perhaps, not even at all. At least we have the assurance that “52” is not completely alone and that their could even be another of his/her breed. Thankfully, “52” is still thriving after all these years!
The Loneliest Whale: The Search for 52 will be in theaters July 9th and on demand July 16th.
It was only last month that John Boyega exited Jeremy Saulnier’s Rebel Ridge for personal reasons. The Star Wars actor didn’t wait long to replace it, hopping aboard the military drama 892 which has just lost its lead actor to a Marvel movie.
THR reports John Boyega will take over for Jonathan Majors on 892, since the latter will be busy playing Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Boyega truly saves the day here, as the film recently started production and was in danger of losing its financing without a major lead actor.
892 is directed and co-written by Abi Damaris Corbin and “follows a Marine war veteran who faces mental and emotional challenges when he tries to reintegrate back into civilian life.”
Others in the cast include Nicole Beharie, Michael K. Williams, Selenis Leyva, and Olivia Washington.
Meanwhile, Majors’ Ant-Man 3 role had been up in the air. We all suspected it was Kang, but the actor recently confirmed it with his autograph to a fan. Don’t be surprised if you first see Majors as Kang in the final episode of Loki. Clearly, he’s the guy running the TVA, right? Just a thought.
Jason Momoa is out for justice, minus his Justice League allies, in the new Netflix thriller, Sweet Girl. The film also stars Isabela Merced of Sicario 2 and Netflix’s Let It Snow, plus Adria Arjona (Morbius), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Magnificent Seven), Lex Scott Davis (The First Purge), Justin Bartha (The Hangover), and Marisa Tomei (Spider-Man: Homecoming).
Directed by Brian Andrew Mendoza, Sweet Girl hits Netflix on August 20th.

Some people leave a will when they die. In the new movie Ride The Eagle, Jake Johnson must complete a series of tasks in order to inherit his mother’s cabin (Susan Sarandon). Of course, as movies go, he learns about himself and his mom along the way.
Johnson, known for playing lovable grump Nick Miller on New Girl, co-wrote the screenplay with Trent O’Donnell (New Girl, No Activity). He and Sarandon are joined by The Good Place’s D’Arcy Carden and Oscar winner J.K. Simmons.
The official synopsis is as follows.
When Leif’s (Jake Johnson) estranged mother Honey (Susan Sarandon) dies she leaves him a ‘conditional inheritance’. Before he can move into her picturesque Yosemite cabin, he has to complete her elaborate, and sometimes dubious, to-do list. Leif and Nora, his canine BFF, step into Honey’s wild world as she tries to make amends from beyond the grave in this hilarious and heartfelt comedy.
You can catch Ride The Eagle when it hits theaters and on-demand July 30.
If you’re an NFL fan who has seen your team get lit up by the rocket arm of quarterback Kurt Warner, then you probably know his story. Going from supermarket clerk to Super Bowl MVP and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Warner’s remarkable journey is coming to the big screen in American Underdog, and we’re getting our first look at Zachary Levi in the starring role.
Levi is seen suited up in Kurt Warner’s St. Louis Rams uniform, along with Anna Paquin as Kurt’s wife Brenda, and Dennis Quaid as head coach Dick Vermeil. It was in 1999 as a member of the Rams under coach Vermeil that Warner, who had been a forgotten backup QB, was thrust into the starting role and led the team to a miraculous Super Bowl victory. He led one of the most high-powered offenses in NFL history, dubbed “The Greatest Show on Turf.”
Integral to Warner’s success was his faith, and the film will delve into that aspect of his life, as well. The Christian-themed sports drama is directed by Jon and Andrew Erwin, who have developed a number of hit faith-based films including 2018’s I Can Only Imagine.
I’ll never forget the way Warner shredded my Chicago Bears with five touchdowns in his final NFL season in 2009. Warner wasn’t a player I liked very much, because he was always such a tough out, but his story is definitely big-screen worthy. This one will be worth a look.
American Underdog opens on December 10th. Check out more photos and a first-look featurette below.
