‘The Munsters’ Trailer: Rob Zombie Brings The Iconic Horror Family To Theaters And Peacock This September

Just in case The Addams Family isn’t enough kooky family horror hijinks for you, there’s also Rob Zombie’s The Munsters. Based on the classic 1960s TV series with the unforgettable theme, Zombie packs away the gruesome gore of his “Firefly Family Trilogy” for macabre laughs and a simultaneous theatrical/streaming release.

Despite this hard change in tone for Zombie (although even his darkest films have some level of humor), he’s largely stuck with the same cast he’s always worked with. His wife Sherri Moon Zombie plays Lily Munster, with Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, and Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa. Also in the cast are Jorge Garcia, Catherine Schell, Dee Wallace, Pat Priest, Butch Patrick, and Cassandra Peterson aka Elvira.

The film centers on the titular monster family as they move from Transylvania into the American suburbs, where they are wildly misunderstood. Interestingly, this serves as a prequel to the iconic TV show, which could be tempting to longtime Munsters fans, and yes they do exist.

The Munsters will hit theaters and Peacock streaming this September.
