Rob Zombie Reveals ‘The Munsters’ Teaser And Faithful Adaptation Of The Classic Horror-Comedy

On the surface, having Rob Zombie, the guy who made gory flicks like House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects, directing The Munsters seems like a weird fit. But it really isn’t. Anyone who has seen his work or heard his music, knows there’s a silly side to Zombie, especially when it comes to campy horror. Plus, he’s just a huge fan of the original classic TV series and has brought many of his old friends to play that other creepy and kooky family.

Backed by the classic Jack Marshall theme, The Munsters teaser provides exactly what doubters of the film might need to see. We see Zombie regulars Sherri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster, Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, and Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa. Also in the cast are Sylvester McCoy, Jorge Garcia, Catherine Schell, Cassandra “Elvira” Peterson, and Dee Wallace.

The brief footage is also in spirit of the TV show’s family-friendly tone, which Zombie plans to keep intact. I’m sure Universal Pictures and Peacock insisted.

The Munsters is expected to hit theaters and Peacock streaming later this year.
