Oh, you thought they were done with Minions movies, right? Not when the first two combined for $2B and the Despicable Me franchise as a whole over $5.4B. The first trailer for Minions & Monsters debuted during today’s Super Bowl, and it finds those crazy yellow sidekicks unleashing chaos in Hollywood.
The trailer shows the Minions working on a Hollywood movie set, only to take the Viking battle too far. Afterwards, they meet with the director and reveal their own plan to make a monster movie. Once again, the Minions go too far by conjuring up a real monster that proceeds to create chaos.
Pierre Coffin returns to direct and voice the Minions. Coffin directed the first three Despicable Me movies and the first Minions. He is the heart and soul of these films.
Minions & Monsters opens on July 1st.
