‘Supergirl’ Teaser: Krypto Is Too Adorable In DC’s Upcoming Superhero Adventure

Today’s big game isn’t the only thing that’s “Super” about today. Warner Bros. and DC Studios have dropped a brief teaser for the upcoming Supergirl film starring Milly Alcock as Superman’s Kryptonian cousin.

Milly Alcock stars as Kara Zor-El, a punk rock, hard-partying Kryptonian who is still dealing with the trauma of losing her entire planet, her family, everything. The film is based on the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic by Tom King, and finds her joining with Ruthye Marye Knoll, a young girl on a quest for revenge after witnessing a tragedy.

Matthias Schoenaerts plays the villain, Krem of the Yellow Hills, and if you’re a big fan of Krypto the Super-dog…well, he’s got a pretty big role as you can probably tell. Just be aware that it ain’t all going to be puppy treats and walks in the park.

The film is directed by Craig Gillespie (Cruella) from a script by Ana Nogueira, who is also writing DC’s Wonder Woman movie.  Eve Ridley plays Ruthye Marye Knoll, with David Krumholtz as Kara’s father Zor-El, and Emily Beecham as her mother, Alura In-Ze. Also, Jason Momoa finally achieves his dream of playing the intergalactic bounty hunter, Lobo.

SYNOPSIS: When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.

Directed by Craig Gillespie, Supergirl hits theaters on June 26th.
