‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’: First Look At Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, & Jenna Ortega In Ghost With The Most’s Return

If Warner Bros. and Tim Burton have their way, this fall everyone will be saying “It’s showtime!!” After decades of fits and starts and rumors, the sequel to Beetlejuice arrives this September. But for now, EW has the first images from Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, ahead of a trailer that should be arriving this week.

Of course, one features Michael Keaton who is back as the “ghost with the most”. The second is of returning stars Catherine O’Hara and Winona Ryder, along with Jenna Ortega and Justin Theroux. Can we assume the funeral is for Charles Deetz, who was played by Jeffrey Jones and is not coming back for the sequel?

BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE opens on September 5th

The nearly 40-year journey to a Beetlejuice sequel has seen the project take a lot of twists and turns. Burton told EW about some of the considered ideas…

“We talked about lots of different things. That was early on when we were going, ‘Beetlejuice & The Haunted Mansion,’ ‘Beetlejuice Goes West,’ whatever. Lots of [ideas] came up.”

Also in the cast are Monica Bellucci, Willem Dafoe, and Burn Gorman.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice opens in theaters on September 5th.
