‘Women Talking’ Trailer: Sarah Polley’s Harrowing Drama Stars Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, And Jessie Buckley

Do you stay and fight? Or flee into the night? In Sarah Polley’s return to filmmaking, Women Talking, a group of deeply religious women in a small, patriarchal Mennonite community are faced with those questions, and choosing the right answer could mean life or death.

Women Talking stars an incredible ensemble that includes Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, Jessie Buckley, Judith Ivey, Ben Whishaw, and Frances McDormand. Based on Miriam Towes’ novel, the story follows these women as they must democratically decide what to do after learning they have been raped by the men of their community. Stay and fight? Or flee into an uncertain future?

Reviews for the film have been stellar, as expected. Our own critic Cortland Jacoby also sang its praises, calling it one of the best of the year.

Women Talking gets a limited theatrical release on December 23rd, followed by a national rollout in January 2023. Check out the new trailer below, along with a brand new poster featuring that phenomenal cast.
