It’s the Loki and Luke Skywalker team-up we didn’t know we wanted. Deadline reports that Tom Hiddleston and Mark Hamill will star in The Life of Chuck, an adaptation of a Stephen King short, and directed by horror maestro, Mike Flanagan.
The film is based on King’s 2020 anthology If It Bleeds, and tells three separate stories that follow the life of Charles Krantz in reverse, starting with his death from a brain tumor at 39 and concluding with his childhood in a supposedly haunted house.
Hiddleston will take on the title role, with Hamill in the role of Albie.
Flanagan will write and direct, his first film since another King adaptation, 2019’s Doctor Sleep, which followed another movie based on the author’s writing, Gerald’s Game. He’s also the filmmaker behind such hit horror series as The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, and The Midnight Club.
Hamill, who has starred in a few things here and there, will be seen in Flanagan’s upcoming Netflix horror miniseries The Fall of the House of Usher. Hiddleston was most recently seen in the Apple gothic romance The Essex Serpent.
