Marvel’s ‘Wonder Man’ Series Adds Stella Meghie As Director Of Multiple Episodes

Shang-Chi and future Avengers: The Kang Dynasty director Destin Daniel Cretton continues to make his mark on the MCU. He’ll also be directing multiple episodes of the upcoming Wonder Man series on Disney+, but he won’t be alone. Deadline reports that The Photograph director, Stella Meghie, will also get behind the camera for what is expected to be multiple episodes.

Meghie will direct episodes of Wonder Man, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, the ion-powered former villain who becomes a key member of The Avengers as well as a big star in Hollywood as a stuntman. Wonder Man also has intense romantic feelings for Scarlet Witch, and his brain patterns were eventually used to build part of Vision’s personality.

It’s unclear what direction the series will take, but with Ben Kingsley returning as actor-turned-fake Mandarin Trevor Slattery, we can guess that show business will play a role. Andrew Guest will act as head writer on the series.

Meghie is already under the Disney umbrella as exec-producer of Tiana, the animated series spinoff from The Princess and the Frog. Her debut film, 2016’s Jean of the Joneses, received critical acclaim and introduced many people to Taylour Paige. Meghie followed that with breakout film The Weekend, which led to 2020’s romance The Photograph, her biggest film up to that point.
