‘Secret Invasion’ Confirmed As Marvel’s First “Crossover Event” Series

Other than maybe the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer, the most impressive footage I saw at Comic-Con was for Secret Invasion. In the comics, that storyline is a massive, company-wide event that touched every single superhero and superteam. But can we expect that same level of saturation from an MCU Disney+ series? It doesn’t look like it, but then a new synopsis suggests otherwise.

A new synopsis for Secret Invasion describes the Nick Fury espionage series as a “crossover event series”, which suggests that it’ll touch both Marvel TV shows and movies.

Secret Invasion is a newly announced series heading to Disney+ that stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos, characters who first met in Captain Marvel.”

“The crossover event series showcases a faction of shape-shifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.”

So what does this mean? Will we see characters from other projects pop up? And how far does that go? Something tells me this is the show where we might see more of the original Netflix characters show up, even if they turn out to be Skrulls.

Secret Invasion hits Disney+ early next year.
