With just two episodes of Secret Invasion remaining, Marvel has dropped a new teaser for what looks to be one Hell of a finish. The footage shows Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) in the fight of his life against Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir) and a shapeshifting Skrull force poised to take over the planet. BEWARE OF MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!
In the previous episode, we learned that James “Rhodey” Rhodes (Don Cheadle), who gleefully fired Fury from his job, is actually a Skrull in deep cover. It’s unclear just how long Rhodey hasn’t been himself. Nor do we know what the implications are for the Avengers, who are basically scattered at this point. We see Fury and this version of Rhodey in a heated confrontation.
This footage also shows us that Gravik is using some new Super-Skrull powers. We’ve already seen him use the Extremis to heal himself, as well as Groot’s abilities. He appears to be using something taken from the Hulk, or possibly Cull Obsidian since he was teased some weeks ago.
