Two ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Scripts Being Written, One For Margot Robbie

In the midst of the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard shit, news has come surrounding Depp’s former mega-franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean. One of the biggest rumors we heard was that producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney wanted Margot Robbie to lead a new chapter. Well, in an interview with Sunday Times, Bruckheimer has confirmed it, but there’s a wrinkle.

“We’re talking to Margot Robbie. We are developing two ‘Pirates’ scripts — one with her, one without,” Bruckheimer said.

The previous report had Robbie reuniting with Birds of Prey writer Christina Hodson. This Pirates script would be totally separate from the one being written by Craig Mazin. Based on what Bruckheimer just said, this is what’s happening.

And what about Johnny Depp? Any hope that his Jack Sparrow will come swinging back into action?

“Not at this point,” Bruckheimer said, adding “The future is yet to be decided.”

Robbie is currently busy shooting Greta Gerwig’s live-action Barbie film.
