‘Spider-Man 4’: Sony Exec Hopeful Of Holland, Watts, And Zendaya’s Return

There’s good news if you actually thought Tom Holland’s Peter Parker had walked off into the sunset at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman shared with Deadline that he has every hope of a fourth movie, and that Holland, director Jon Watts, and Zendaya will all return…

We hope to get working on the next Spider-Man movie”, Rothman said.

When asked about the return of Holland, Zendaya, and Watts, Rothman was optimistic about that, too…

“That whole group, we hope. Then there are movies I would call adjunct to the Spider-Man universe. That’s Kraven, which we’re shooting now, and Madam Web, which we’ll start in the spring with S.J. Clarkson directing. And then there are many Marvel characters that are standalone.”

There’s a potential problem with Watts’ busy schedule. The filmmaker had been attached to direct a Fantastic Four movie for Marvel Studios, but decided he needed a break from superheroes. Instead, he signed on for a new Star Wars TV series which promises to keep him occupied for a while. If Sony is in a rush to get going on Spider-Man 4, they might have to look for a different director.
