James McAvoy Doesn’t Miss Professor X Role, Denies ‘Doctor Strange 2’ Cameo Appearance

You give fanboys an inch, and they’ll imagine a whole fucking mile. While it certainly appears that Patrick Stewart will be playing someone, probably Professor Xavier, in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, his cameo and others have yet to be confirmed officially. And yet, anybody even remotely associated with Fox’s X-Men should get ready for questions about a possible appearance. James McAvoy, you’re up.

During a recent Q&A, McAvoy was asked if he’d make an appearance in the Doctor Strange sequel, reprising his role as Charles Xavier’s younger self. His answer? A blunt, firm “No.” That was followed by No I don’t think so” when asked if he misses playing the character. Damn.

And who can really blame him? Does anyone really think of his version of Xavier as the definitive one? Or is Stewart the first who comes to mind? Besides, after Dark Phoenix he probably wants nothing to do with the X-Men ever again.
