‘Doctor Strange 2’: Patrick Stewart Plays Coy About Those X-Men Rumors

You’ve undoubtedly seen the headlines: “The X-Men Confirmed For Doctor Strange 2!”, or “Charles Xavier Revealed In New Doctor Strange Trailer!”.  This all springs from that recent promo that seems to have a mysterious figure speaking who sounds a lot like Patrick Stewart. Is any of it true? Who knows? Probably not, because why would Marvel give something like that away for free? Then again, Stewart is out here playing coy so maybe there’s some truth to it.

Promoting season 2 of Picard to the folks at Comicbook.com, Stewart didn’t exactly kill those rumors dead…

“You know, people have been imitating my voice ever since I came on the stage 60 years ago. So, I can’t be held responsible for that.”

That’s not a denial.

A look at that scene, broken down by tons of eagle-eyed fans, does seem to indicate the arrival of The Illuminati, which is a super group of smart folks who have been orchestrating events throughout the Marvel Universe. Charles Xavier was part of that group. The MCU version would need some tweaks, but it’s feasible. Still, I fall back on the idea that Kevin Feige is pulling a prank on eager fans, just as he did with the Quicksilver tease on WandaVision.

We’ll find out when Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness opens on May 6th.
