The Batman is a little less than two weeks away, after what seems like an eternity of waiting. They’ll be having a screening of it this week on my birthday, so it better be good and come with a slice of cake. Anyway, two new clips from the film have been released, one presented by Andy Serkis and features him as Alfred Pennyworth. The other has an encounter between Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne and Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman.
What’s interesting about this Alfred clip is that we know so little about how their relationship will work in Matt Reeves’ film. Here, Alfred is warning Bruce about his responsibilities to the company, but the billionaire is more interested in his vigilante activities. That’s very much in keeping with early versions of the character and I expect we’ll see a lot of conflict between these two.
The second clip features what appears to be one of the first encounters between Batman and Selina, as he catches her in the middle of a theft. They engage in some fisticuffs before he gets the drop on her briefly. The sexual tension is already starting to simmer by the end of it.
The Batman opens in theaters on March 4th.
