‘Army Of Thieves’ Trailer: Dieter Returns For A Pre-‘Army Of The Dead’ Heist

Netflix couldn’t very well hold their TUDUM fan event without something from fan-favorite director, Zack Snyder. While he’s not specifically directing Army of Thieves, the heist film is a prequel to his hit zombie flick Army of the Dead, which has grown into a full-fledged franchise with multiple projects on the way.

Army of Thieves is directed by Matthias Schweighöfer, who also returns to play the popular safe cracker, Dieter. The film takes place before his heroic sacrifice (I remain convinced he ain’t dead) when Dieter was just a bank teller, roped into a dangerous crime alongside some of the world’s most wanted criminals.

Schweighöfer is joined by F9‘s Nathalie Emmanuel, Ruby O. Fee, Stuart Martin, Guz Khan, Peter Simonischek, and Jonathan Cohen. Shay Hatten and Zack Snyder came up with the story, so expect it to fit nicely into the Army of the Dead universe.

Netflix will release Army of Thieves on October 29th.
