Naomi Scott, who gave the performance of her career in 2024’s Smile 2, quietly followed that up with the sci-fi epic romance, Eternal Return. Premiering at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, it pairs Scott with Game of Thrones star Kit Harington. The film was written and directed by Yaniv Raz, known for 2021’s dramedy Dr. Bird’s Advice for Sad Poets.
SYNOPSIS: Cass, a young woman numbed by recent heartbreak, meets Virgil, a quirky cartographer, on her 29th birthday. Along with his friend Malcolm, the pair will attempt to travel back in time to awaken Cass to love again.
Joining Scott and Harington in the cast are Sonoya Mizuno, Jay Lycurgo, Simon Kunz, and Simon Callow.
Raz said in a statement, “I grew up on films that trusted a little magic to tell the truth, stories where the impossible was simply the most honest way to say something real. Eternal Return is my map back to that kind of cinema, and to the people we lose and keep finding again. Naomi Scott, Kit Harington and Simon Callow gave its fairy tale a human weight, finding the love, longing and grief beneath the magic. My hope is that audiences leave feeling the way those films always left me: lighter and a little more willing to believe.”
Quiver will open Eternal Return in theaters on December 4th.
