Following 2021’s Without Remorse and Michael B. Jordan’s intro into the Tom Clancy’s “Ryanverse” as John Clark, the long-awaited Rainbow Six movie is finally moving forward. THR reports that John Wick filmmaker Chad Stahelski will direct Jordan in the action film, based on the second of Clancy’s novels to feature Clark.
The sequel finds Clark putting together a secret international counterterrorism organization to handle a series of seemingly random terrorist attacks. What they discover is a sprawling apocalyptic conspiracy that threatens the world.
Without Remorse, which featured a script co-written by Taylor Sheridan, debuted on Amazon Prime Video and fit in nicely with the “Ryanverse” they’ve got, led by their successful Jack Ryan series. Paramount is taking Rainbow Six into theaters, though, and it remains to be seen if they make this a formal cinematic universe. It would be a smart idea if they did. Rainbow Six is incredibly popular, and has explodes from the pages to become a multimedia franchise that includes a series of bestselling video games.
