‘Gen V’ Teaser: The ‘V’ Is For Violent In ‘The Boys’ College-Set Spinoff

Superheroes are all over the place now. Big screen, small screen, they’re tough to avoid. But you know what’s even better than that? A show that takes the piss out of superhero tropes, and that’s what The Boys has done for three hugely successful seasons. But why stop there? Amazon is expanding the hit series with a spinoff, Gen V, that takes on a trip through superhero college.

Gen V is different from The Boys: Diabolical in that it’s a live-action series connected to the main show, and not an animated anthology. It centers on the students attending Godolkin University where they train to become the next generation of heroes. Of course, they’re all pretty fucked up and no amount of schooling is going to change that. In the comics, these students become the G-Men, which is creator Garth Ennis’ twisted take on the X-Men.

Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, Marco Pigossi, Clancy Brown, Alexander Calvert, and Jason Ritter star. The duo of Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters (Agent Carter, Emergence) are showrunners, with The Boys creator Eric Kripke exec-producing.

Prime Video will debut Gen V in 2023.
