There was never any doubt that Gen V would return for season two on Prime Video. The question was how it would do so without star Chance Perdomo, who tragically passed away last year. The decision was made to respect Perdomo by not recasting the role, but by making his character’s disappearance a major plot point throughout the season, and we see some of that in the latest trailer released this weekend.
The show’s second season will feature yet another crossover with The Boys, as Erin Moriarty’s Starlight makes an appearance. We’ll also see other characters from The Boys turn up, such as The Deep, Black Noir, and Firecracker.
Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Asa German return. Hamish Linklater is new to the cast as Dean Cipher, who has begun training the Godolkin University students to become soldiers.
SYNOPSIS: From the world of The Boys comes Gen V, a thrilling new series set at America’s only college for superheroes. These gifted students put their moral boundaries to the test, competing for the university’s top ranking, and a chance to join The Seven, Vought International’s elite superhero team. When the school’s dark secrets come to light, they must decide what kind of heroes they want to become.
Gen V returns to Prime Video on September 17th, once again with Michele Fazekas as showrunner.
