Today’s Netflix event, Tudum, showcased a brand new clip from the much anticipated Knives Out sequel. Introduced by Director Rian Johnson, the first look showed us just how integral puzzles and games are to Glass Onion’s storyline.
In the clip, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista each receive a mysterious wooded box that when opened, reveals four puzzle games that each must solve. Through cutting to each individual character we learn so much about our future murder suspects. Leslie Odom Jr. looks to be in some kind of bunker, while Bautista looks to live with his rich mother. Hudson is a some party trying to solve the puzzle while Hahn looks to be a suburban white kitchen.
The end of the clip reveals a literal glass onion containing a note from Miles Bron, inviting the group to his private island via his yacht and that he knows one of them will murder him.
Daniel Craig does make an appearance in the clip’s final moments as the detective we know and love, Benoit Blanc. Edward Norton, Ethan Hawke, Jessica Henwick, and Janelle Monáe also star.
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will be released in select theaters in November 2022, before its streaming release on December 23, by Netflix.
