During the wave of Marvel announcements during Disney’s presentation last week, one film left out was the Blade project starring Mahershala Ali. While most of what they were focused on at the time had to do with Disney+ shows, some of the big screen plans fell into place, as well, so leaving out Blade was a little strange. However, we’ve got an update on it now, anyway, with an idea of when we’ll get to see the Oscar winner slice up some vampires.
A Disney programming sheet [via CBM] lists all of the upcoming Marvel Studios films in chronological order, beginning with Black Widow on May 7th 2021 and concluding with the newly-announced Fantastic Four film in 2023. And included on this list is Blade, which will arrive at an unspecified date in 2022. As it stands, the film will arrive between Black Panther II on July 8th and Captain Marvel 2 on November 11th.
There are five films arriving in 2022 and “only” three in 2023 so I wouldn’t be shocked if there’s more shuffling that takes place. Hopefully, soon we’ll start hearing more about a Blade director since that is still unknown.
