‘Outside The Wire’ Trailer: Anthony Mackie Is An Android Soldier In Netflix’s Futuristic Action Film

Fans of Anthony Mackie, and there are plenty, are no doubt anxious to see him suit up for Falcon and the Winter Soldier. While the wait for that series has been longer than expected, Mackie has been keeping plenty busy with films such as The Banker, Synchronic, and Seberg. And now you can add the futuristic action film, Outside the Wire, which is soon to arrive on Netflix.

As seen in the new trailer, Mackie plays an android officer who joins with a drone pilot to infiltrate the enemy lines and locate a doomsday device before the bad guys. Mackie is paired up with actor Damson Idris, who had a break out as the star of Farming. The footage boasts “from the studio that brought you Extinction and The Old Guard“, as Netflix continues to add more blockbusters to their list of original films.

Behind the camera is Swedish filmmaker Mikael Håfström, best known for directing 1408, The Rite, and Escape Plan. The cast includes Emily Beecham, Michael Kelly, and Pilou Asbaek.

Outside the Wire hits Netflix on January 15th 2021.

SYNOPSIS: Set in the future, a drone pilot (Damson Idris) is sent into a deadly militarized zone where he finds himself working for an android officer (Anthony Mackie) tasked to locate a doomsday device before the insurgents do.
