The Boys may have come to an end, but now it’s time to witness the rise of The Seven. Prime Video has dropped the first trailer for Vought Rising, a prequel spinoff series that features two key characters from the OG series, Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy and Aya Cash as Clara Vought aka Stormfront.
Mason Dye, Will Hochman, KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie, Nicolo Pasetti, Elizabeth Posey, Ricy Sattfieri, and Brian J. Smith co-star.
Paul Grellong acts as showrunner and exec-producer. The Boys creator Eric Kripke is an exec-producer alongside Seth Rogen, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Evan Goldberg, and Neal H. Moritz. Ackles and Cash are producers, as well.
Vought Rising is set in the 1950s, and explores the twisted origins of Vought International and Compound V, the volatile formula used to create superheroes. As we see in the teaser, Soldier Boy, at this early stage, actually has hope of being a true blue American hero. Boy, does he take a turn for the worse, as fans of The Boys already know.
There’s no firm release date for Vought Rising yet, but it’s likely to hit Prime Video next year. And don’t forget, The Boys: Mexico is another show on the way that will keep the franchise rolling.
