Milly Alcock’s Supergirl To Return In James Gunn’s ‘Man Of Tomorrow’

While we briefly met Milly Alcock’s Supergirl at the tail end of James Gunn’s Superman, the rambunctious Kryptonian’s solo outing won’t hit theaters until June 26th. That said, we already know where she’ll be popping up after that, and it’s in Gunn’s anticipated sequel, Man of Tomorrow.

Confirming what we sorta already expected, Variety‘s piece says Alcock will reprise the role of Kara Zor-El in Man of Tomorrow.

DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran said, “She’s a major part of what we’re doing.”

Alcock was also excited over the news, stating,  “I am so excited for all the young women who are going to see this, that’s really going to get me…What Kara was going through that I was going through is that she’s someone who has been at war with themselves. And I think that’s a very universal feeling, especially for women. So it’s been a really surprising journey. I never thought taking on a superhero film would do that. But it has! And what a beautiful thing.”

Alcock joins joins a cast led by David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, along with Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Lars Eidinger as Brainiac, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathon Fillion as Guy Gardner, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Adria Arjona as Maxima and Aaron Pierre reprising his Lanterns role as Green Lantern John Stewart. Matthew Lillard recently signed on for an unspecified role.

With all of the characters in Man of Tomorrow, it’s starting to look as if Gunn is planting the seeds for an eventual Justice League movie. Would anyone be shocked if Jason Momoa’s Lobo is confirmed next?
