Broken bones, getting gored by a bull, getting knocked out by Butterbean, and growing older and more brittle. None of these things is going to stop Johnny Knoxville and the Jackass gang. That’s right, Jackass 5 is happening.
Variety confirms that Jackass 5 is in the works and will be released by Paramount Pictures on June 26th.
Knoxville confirmed the news on social media: “Well a wang dang and hot damn doodle, we are starting the year off with a bang. We wanted to let you know that this summer ‘Jackass’ is back!! We will see you in theatres June 26th. More to come but wanted you to hear it from us first!!”
The most recent film was 2021’s Jackass Forever, which saw the gang facing the reality that doing these dangerous stunts was pretty stupid at their advanced ages. Apparently, that isn’t going to stop them from doing it again.
It’s unclear who will direct, but Jeff Tremaine has been at the helm of all four movies. It would be a surprise if he didn’t return.
If you include the narrative comedy Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, the franchise has earned $559M worldwide. No wonder Paramount won’t let these guys heal up for too long.
Let’s see what causes Dave England to poop himself this time.
I’m admittedly a huge Jackass fan, although I never watched the MTV series at all. But the movies are damned hilarious and watchable as Hell. They never get old. Hopefully, this new one will live up to a pretty high standard.
