The bad guys have always been the best thing about Star Wars: Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Darth Maul, etc. And now two of the best from the Clone Wars era are the centerpiece of a new anthology series on Disney+, Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld.
Cad Bane and Asajj Ventress star in Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld, the next series of animated shorts from Dave Filoni exploring the criminal underbelly. It’s the latest entry in the “Tales” anthology format that began in 2022 with Tales of the Jedi, followed by Tales of the Empire.
Nika Futterman, Corey Burton, Artt Butler, Lane Factor, AJ LoCascio, Clare Grant, Dawn-Lyen Gardner, and Eric Lopez lead the voice cast.
Filoni created the series and is supervising director, working with screenwriter Matt Michnovetz.
Ventress’ story takes place following her return from death, seen in season 3 of The Bad Batch, and is given a new lease on life. Along with a Force-sensitive child, Ventress must go on the run from the Inquisitors. Bane’s story goes back into the bounty hunter’s past as he confronts a former friend now a Marshall on the other side of the law.
Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld hits Disney+ on May 4th.
