‘Happy Gilmore 2’ Teaser: Adam Sandler Is Back On The Green In Netflix’s Golf Comedy Sequel

Adam Sandler fans have been given a welcome gift from Netflix this Christmas. It’s the long-awaited (by some) teaser trailer for Happy Gilmore 2, the sequel to Sandler’s beloved 1996 golf comedy, one of the early hits that established him as a future box office giant.

Based on the footage it’s like no time has passed at all. Happy is back, still wearing that old hockey jersey and putting for the fences like a guy half his age. Returning to the green is Happy’s nemesis, Shooter McGavin, once again played by Christopher McDonald. Julie Bowen returns as Happy’s love interest Virginia Venit, Ben Stiller returns as Hal for an expanded role, and Dennis Dugan, who directed Happy Gilmore and played Doug Thompson, also returns for another round.

New additions to the cast include Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Mr. Taylor Swift himself Travis Kelce makes his big-screen acting debut. Kid Cudi, Bad Bunny, Margaret Qualley, Benny Safdie, and former AEW champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman co-star with loads of celebrity cameos. Unfortunately, Carl Weathers and Bob Barker both passed away in recent months.

Happy Gilmore 2 hits Netflix in December 2025 and is directed by Kyle Newachek, who worked with Sandler previously on Murder Mystery.
