Adam Sandler Confirms Reunion With The Safdie Bros. On A New Film

When Uncut Gems dropped in 2019, it not only served as an introduction for many people to directors the Safdie Bros., but the chaotic film also gave Adam Sandler some of the best reviews of his career. While an Oscar nomination was elusive (This is one case I’d say he was robbed), he won an Indie Spirit Award for a performance that gave all of us heart palpatations. And now Sandler is teaming up with the Safdies again, confirming rumors that have been swirling for weeks.

Speaking with EW, Sandler said his next film with the Safdies is in the works right now…

“They’re working hard on it. Their work ethic is bananas. They’re always working, always writing, always thinking. I don’t know what I can tell you, but it’s gonna be very exciting. It’s different. But I don’t want them to ever say, ‘What the hell did you tell him that for?’ So I’ll just let them talk [about it].”

Sandler didn’t want to give anything away, so we’ll just have to wait until the Safdies are ready to talk about it. We could be waiting a while, though. The duo are incredibly busy, especially Benny who doubles as an actor, recently with a key role in Licorice Pizza. But when they’re ready to shoot, Sandler is more than ready to be there. I can see this partnership lasting a very long time.
