Neve Campbell Confirms ‘Scream 7’ Release Date In February 2026

Sidney, you in danger, girl! In a surprise move, Spyglass Entertainment, Paramount Pictures, and Neve Campbell have announced that Scream 7 will hit theaters on February 27th, 2026! The news confirms that Campbell is fully on board to return as “final girl” Sidney Prescott, after starring in the first five films but sitting out 2023’s New York-set Scream VI due to a salary dispute.

Of course, Scream 7 has gone through Hell getting to this point. The anticipated horror sequel lost its two biggest stars, Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera, for very different reasons, leading to director Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day) dropping out. In March, Campbell confirmed her return to the franchise, joined by franchise writer Kevin Williamson who will finally take over as director.  This will be his sophomore effort after 1999’s Teaching Mrs. Tingle.

Guy Busick returns as screenwriter, having penned the recent reboots Scream V and Scream VI. Previous directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the directing duo known collectively as Radio Silence, are serving as executive producers, alongside writer James Vanderbilt.

Is this the moment when Sidney finally turns to the dark side? Or has a final, fatal encounter with Ghostface? We’ll find out soon enough.
