‘Superboys of Malegaon’ Trailer: Amateur Filmmakers Bring Bollywood Dreams To Small-Town India

If there’s a common language that unites the world, it’s spoken through movies. A love of movies and the art of filmmaking is felt globally, and can be seen in the trailer for Amazon MGM’s upcoming film, Superboys of Malegaon, which will have its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival next week.

Inspired by the award-winning 2008 documentary Supermen of Malegaon, the heartwarming film is based on the life of Nasir Shaikh, an amateur filmmaker in the small town in western India. Realizing that the people of his community need an escape from the daily tensions, poverty, and hardship, Shaikh and other passionate filmmakers decide to make a Bollywood movie for the people of Malegaon by the people of Malegaon.

Behind the camera for Superboys of Malegaon is Reema Kagti, joined by a talented cast of Hindi actors including Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, Riddhi Kumar, and Shashank Arora.
