‘Love Again’ Trailer: Priyanka Chopra Jonas And Sam Heughan Fall In Love Over Text

Depending on how you look at it, the resurgence of rom-coms caused by the wealth of streaming services is either a good thing or an awful thing. Wherever you fall on the subject, romance is definitely back on the big screen. And this being Valentine’s Day, what better time to drop the new trailer for Love Again, which finds Priyanka Chopra Jonas falling for the guy at the other end of her text messages.

That dude just so happens to be the handsome Outlander star, Sam Heughan. Chopra plays a woman reeling from the death of her fiance, and copes by sending random text messages to his old phone number. Just so happens that the new owner of that phone number is really cute and looking for love, and it doesn’t hurt that he’s got Celine Dion on his side helping to win the heart of this mystery woman.

Dion isn’t just some plot point. The singer plays a key role in is her feature film acting debut.

Sound a bit formulaic? Maybe so, but there’s reason for optimism. The film is written and directed by James C. Strouse, who has done some fantastic stuff such the 2007 John Cusack drama Grace is Gone, 2015’s People Places Things with Jemaine Clement, and 2017’s The Incredible Jessica James.

Love Again opens in theaters on May 12th.

What if a random text message led to the love of your life? In this romantic comedy, dealing with the loss of her fiancé, Mira Ray sends a series of romantic texts to his old cell phone number…not realizing the number was reassigned to Rob Burns’ new work phone. A journalist, Rob is captivated by the honesty in the beautifully confessional texts. When he’s assigned to write a profile of megastar Celine Dion (playing herself in her first film role), he enlists her help in figuring out how to meet Mira in person…and win her heart.
