‘Disenchanted’ Trailer: Amy Adams Is Back In Fairy Tale Land For Disney’s Long-Awaited Sequel

Fifteen years ago, Disney’s Enchanted was one of the first films that proved what a box office heavyweight Amy Adams could be. The fairy tale comedy earned a whopping $340M at the time, and seemed destined to become just the first in a series of hit movies. And yet, here we are in 2022 and that sequel is only just arriving with Disenchanted.

Adams returns as Giselle, with a much older and grayer Patrick Dempsey as her love, Robert. It’s been years since the two got married and moved to the city, and now Giselle is getting restless and wondering if happily ever after is a real thing.

Idina Menzel and James Marsden are back in their roles, as well, joined by Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jayma Mays, Oscar Nunez, and Gabriella Baldacchino. Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz also return to pen songs for the new musical, with Menken composing the score. Adam Shankman is behind the camera, who as the director of Hairspray and Rock of Ages knows about crafting musicals.

Disenchanted hits Disney+ exclusively on November 18th.
