‘The Bikeriders’: Jeff Nichols Adds Michael Shannon, Boyd Holbrook, And Damon Herriman To Motorcycle Drama

If it’s a Jeff Nichols movie, you know Michael Shannon will be there, too. Shannon has starred or appeared in every film Nichols has directed, and that will now include his latest, motorcycle drama The Bikeriders.

Deadline confirms Shannon has joined The Bikeriders cast alongside Boyd Holbrook and Mindhunter actor Damon Herriman. They join a cast that already boasts Tom Hardy, Jodie Comer, and Austin Butler, making this one of the most impressive Nichols has ever assembled, which is saying something.

The film is an original story inspired by the work of American photographer and civil rights activist Danny Lyon and his 1967 novel about an outlaw motorcycle group in the Midwest.

Shannon, who has been working with Nichols since 2007’s Shotgun Stories, is currently shooting his directorial debut, Eric Larue. Holbrook can be seen right now in Netflix’s hit The Sandman series.
