Emily Blunt Joins Ryan Gosling In ‘The Fall Guy’ Movie, 2024 Release Date Set

Revivals of classic TV shows isn’t just popular on the small screen, they make great movies, too. From The Man from UNCLE to The Equalizer, what’s old is new again in a much larger format. Ryan Gosling and Bullet Train director David Leitch are attached to another, an adaptation of 1980s series The Fall Guy, and now that film has added Emily Blunt to the cast.

Deadline has the news of Emily Blunt joining Ryan Gosling in The Fall Guy. The film is based on the classic show that starred Lee Majors as Hollywood stuntman Colt Seavers who along with his cool GMC pickup truck and sidekick Jody Banks, moonlights as a bounty hunter.

While Blunt’s role is unknown, it’s possible she’ll play Jody, taking over from heartthrob Heather Thomas. Blunt has more than her share of experience in action flicks including The Adjustment Bureau, Edge of Tomorrow, Sicario, and A Quiet Place.

Hollywood has been trying to get this movie off the ground for more than a decade, with one attempt even having Dwayne Johnson attached.

Universal has set The Fall Guy to open on March 1st 2024.
