‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Casts Marvin Jones III As Tombstone

As someone who has been following Krondon since he was an underground rapper in the 2000s (Strong Arm Steady represent!!), it’s wild how his acting career has taken off. Now comes the news that Krondon aka Marvin Jones III, will play Tombstone in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This follows on Jones voicing the supervillain in Sony’s award-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Shooting on Spider-Man: Brand New Day took a hit recently when star Tom Holland suffered a concussion on set. Casting rolls along, though, with Jones landing the role of Lonnie Lincoln aka Tombstone. Like Jones himself, Tombstone’s most notable physical trait is that he’s an albino African-American. He also sports razor-sharp fangs and enhanced physical strength and durability. Mainly, he’s a notorious crime boss and a frequent thorn in the side of New York’s street-level heroes such as Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Punisher.

Jones is best known for playing another albino supervillain, Tobias Whale, in the DC Comics series Black Lightning. He recently had a small role in Joe Carnahan’s action flick Shadow Force. He joins a cast that includes Holland, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Zendaya, and Mark Ruffalo, who is expected to return as the Hulk. Destin Daniel Cretton directs from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

Shooting on Spider-Man: Brand New Day resumes on September 29th. The film hits theaters on July 31st 2026. [Deadline]
