Jason Momoa Reveals Ben Affleck’s Return As Batman In ‘Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom’

Curiously, Warner Bros. kept Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom off the dance card for their Hall H presentation at Comic-Con. There’s a part of me that thinks, similar to the Ezra Miller situation in The Flash, that they wanted to avoid any controversy surrounding co-star Amber Heard. So they just didn’t deal with it. That’s a shame because the news dropped by star Jason Momoa would’ve been even better if revealed live to an adoring crowd of thousands.

Momoa revealed on his Instagram that Ben Affleck will suit up as Batman in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.  We know the actor is wrapping up his time as Bruce Wayne/Batman, and will have a role in The Flash, but this is the first we’ve heard of him being in this movie.

Chances are this is only a small role, but I love that Affleck is making the rounds and having some fun on his way out of the DCEU. Michael Keaton will pick up as the Batman going forward, but I hope these final appearances by Affleck are a way to solidify his legacy in the role. He definitely should not be forgotten.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom opens March 17th 2023.
