Vin Diesel Says Brie Larson Is Joining ‘Fast & Furious 10’ Cast

Considering the logic defying, near superhuman feats in every Fast & Furious movie, it’s only natural that actors used to playing superheroes are frequently cast. Vin Diesel, John Cena, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson (?), and new additions Jason Momoa and Daniela Melchior have all had their time in comic book movies. And now you can apparently add Brie “Captain Marvel” Larson to the list as Diesel has welcome her into the family with Fast & Furious 10.

Diesel revealed the news himself on Instagram, captioning a photo with Larson…

“Yeah yeah yeah… you see this angel over my shoulder cracking me up, you say to your self ‘that’s captain Marvel,’” Clearly there is love and laughter in this image. What you don’t see however, is the character you will be introduced to in Fast10. You have no idea how timeless and amazing she will be in our mythology. Beyond her beauty, her intellect… her Oscar, haha is this profound soul who will add something you might not have expected but yearned for. Welcome to the FAMILY Brie.”

This is shaping up to be a gigantic two-part finale for the long-running franchise with so many heavyweight additions to the cast. Charlize Theron is also expected to return, along with Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Ludacris, and other cast regulars. No Dwayne Johnson, though. That ship has sailed.

I’m curious if Diesel is bringing Larson in as a potential setup for a female-led spinoff? It’s been discussed in the past but never really gotten anywhere. With the core franchise ending, this would be the time.

Justin Lin will direct Fast & Furious 10 which opens May 19th 2023.
