‘Scream’ Final Trailer Harkens Back To The Ghostface’s First Murderous Rampage

Paramount Pictures will release Scream in just three days. But today they decided it needed one final trailer. Hm, ok.  This one is heavy into callbacks to the original 1996 Scream that redefined horror movies for a generation. The infamous “rules” for surviving the Ghostface murderer are back, and of course, the film returns Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, and even Marley Shelton into the fray.

Joining this murderer’s buffet are franchise newcomers Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sonia Ammar.  Behind the camera are directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett, part of the filmmaking collective known as Radio Silence. They scored a huge genre hit in 2019 with Ready or Not.

Here’s the synopsis: Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.

Scream hits theaters on January 14th.
