Karen Gillan Is Ready To Battle Her Clone In First Look At ‘Dual’

If you’re a fan of Karen Gillan, and let’s face it we all are, then Riley Stearns’ clone thriller Dual should be on your radar. Announced two years ago, we haven’t seen anything from the film that promises a double role for Gillan, but that changes now with an intriguing first look that finds her alongside co-star Aaron Paul.

Gillan, who is best known for playing Amy Pond on Doctor Who, Nebula in the Guardians of the Galaxy films, and Ruby Roundhouse in a pair of Jumanji films, is seen wielding a blade in preparation for battling her own clone. Paul stands in the way, but we don’t really think he can take Gillan, do we? Of course not.

Written and directed by Stearns, Dual stars Gillan as a woman with a terminal illness who agrees to be cloned to ease the heartbreak of her friends and family. But when she recovers, by law she must terminate the clone or face death herself.

Also in the cast are Beulah Koale, Martha Kelly, and Stearns’ The Art of Self Defense star Jesse Eisenberg.

Dual was expected to arrive this year but it still has no firm date. I expect a trailer will drop soon and that should tell us more.
