‘Fast & Furious: Spy Racers’ Trailer: Animated Series Races Into Season 3 Later This Month

You know what? While fans of the Toretto crew have had to wait an extra year for F9, there’s been a lot of fuel in this franchise’s tank over on Netflix. Somehow, we are already heading into the third season of animated series, Fast & Furious: Spy Racers (!!!), and this time they’re racing in the damn desert. Weren’t they just in Rio?

The answer to that last question is “Hell yeah”, and it was only a couple of months ago because season 2 kicked off in October. Later this month sees the start of season 3, subtitled Sahara, where Dominic Toretto’s young cousin Tony and his team of spy racers are recruited to stop yet another deadly terrorist organization, this time operating out of the Sahara Desert.

So I’ve only watched an episode or two of this, totally random ones, too, and the thing to know is that this show is wildly beyond-the-pale even by the live-action standards. These guys and gals are taking on giant robots and shit. It’s borderline Hobbs & Shaw territory.

Fast & Furious: Spy Racers-Sahara hits Netflix for 13 new episodes on December 26th.

SYNOPSIS: Inspired by Universal’s blockbuster Fast & Furious franchise, teenager Tony Toretto follows in the footsteps of his cousin Dom when he and his friends are recruited by a secret government agency to take down nefarious crime organizations across the globe.

This season, when the menacing Cleve Kelso and his experimental storm satellites take down Ms. Nowhere and Gary during an operation in North Africa, Echo steps up as de facto leader, much to Tony’s chagrin, and the Spy Racers embark on a dangerous mission across the Sahara. Will they be able to save their crew or will Kelso and his league of villains be too powerful for the Spy Racers to survive in the harsh desert?
