‘Close To You’ Trailer: Elliot Page Returns Home After Transition In New Drama Arriving Next Month

Elliot Page has used his celebrity to be very open about his transition, both through interviews and in the types of movies he stars in. Case in point, Close to You, a new drama that centers on an issue unique to the trans community.

Directed by Dominic Savage and co-starring Hillary Baack, Close to You stars Page as a trans man who returns home after years away, and attempts to reconnect with people who knew him before the transition. As seen in the new trailer, it’s not an easy thing to do.

The film was written by Savage from a story he and Page developed together, so the emotional beats are sure to feel genuine.

Page recently produced the cheerleading drama Backspot, and can be seen next in the final season of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy.

Greenwich Entertainment opens Close to You in theaters on August 6th.
