Unsurprising given his long history there, Luca Guadagnino is returning to Venice with his latest film, the cannibal love story Bones and All. Do people want to see a romance about…well, cannibals? That’s going to be the question, but with stars Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell as the lovers in question, this is guaranteed to be one of the most talked about films of the season.
An adaptation of Camille DeAngelis‘s 2016 novel, the story centers on Lee and Maren, young lovers living on the fringes in a world that can’t accept who they are.
Guadagnino adapted the film with co-writer David Kajganich. The two previously worked together on Suspiria and my favorite Guadagnino film, A Bigger Splash.
The cast includes Michael Stuhlbarg, André Holland, Chloë Sevigny, and David Gordon-Green. Jessica Harper, Jake Horowitz, and Mark Ryland, with a score aby Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor.
Bones and All will hit theaters on November 23rd, followed by Amazon Prime Video streaming.
