‘Bridgerton’ Star Regé-Jean Page Rumored To Be The Next Black Panther

Here’s an interesting, if unfounded rumor regarding Black Panther 2 that should make fans of Netflix’s Bridgerton series perk up. According a site I’ve never heard of, and thus don’t trust, called Crazy Days and Nights, Bridgerton breakout star Regé-Jean Page is an early frontrunner to be the new Black Panther.

Pretty sure every woman I know on my Facebook timeline just fainted.

Obviously, take this with a grain of salt, a dash of pepper, too.

Marvel has no plans to recast T’Challa in the wake of Chadwick Boseman’s death. That would be a horrible idea. So while the likelihood is someone we know will take over, such as Shuri, M’Baku, or maybe even a reincarnated Erik Killmonger, there’s always the chance they go with someone new…or at least new to the MCU.

So maybe the idea is to go with Kasper Cole? In the comics, Kasper is a NY cop, the son of an African man and a Jewish woman, gets involved in a corruption scandal with ties stretching from New York to Wakanda. He eventually takes over the mantle of Black Panther, having received the heart-shaped herb to gain superhuman abilities. He later assumes a new identity, White Tiger.  It was in that identity that Cole joined The Crew, a street-level superhero squad led by James “War Machine” Rhodes.

I don’t buy any of this, but stranger things have happened, and Page is very hot right now due to Bridgerton, with more people watching that period piece than I think Netflix was ready for. To me, it makes more sense for Page to be part of this Wakanda series that’s in development right now, or maybe be the next James Bond?

Black Panther 2 is currently set for July 8th 2022.
