A few days ago we clued you in to a very important investor call that Disney had coming up, one in which they were expected to announce multiple Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar projects. Well, that meeting is now over and they did not disappoint. If you wondered just how invested in Disney+ they were going to be over the next few years, wonder no longer.
During today’s investor call Disney revealed plans for 10 Marvel series, 10 Star Wars shows, 15 live-action, animated, and Pixar shows, plus another 15 live-action, animated, and Pixar features all going straight to Disney+.
Damn.
Excuse my language but that is a metric fuck ton of content, enough to shut up that friend of yours who says Disney+ is only good for The Mandalorian or whatever.
We have an idea what some of these projects are. For Marvel there’s WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, What If?, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, and Moon Knight just to name some. For Lucasfilm there’s the upcoming Cassian Andor series spinning out of Rogue One, and the long-awaited Obi-Wan Kenobi show starring Ewan McGregor. Perhaps those rumors of an Ahsoka Tano or Cara Dune series are part of the equation?
Too bad there isn’t clarification on some of these, but that will happen eventually. Basically, if you’re a fan of any of these properties you’re going to need to have Disney+
Over the next few years, roughly 10 @Marvel series, 10 @StarWars series, 15 Disney live action, @DisneyAnimation, and @Pixar series, plus 15 all-new Disney live action, Disney Animation, and Pixar features will be released directly on @DisneyPlus.
