Just a few weeks ago I had a chance to talk with WWE superstar, actor, parkour master, all-around cool dude John Hennigan aka John Morrison about the awesome short film, The Speed of Time. During that conversation we talked about the possibility of him reprising the role if the short were to expand into a feature film, something he was totally down with. Well, it’s actually happening, and Morrison is coming back as Johnny Killfire.
According to Variety (via WrestleZone), Morrison will star in a feature-length version of The Speed of Time, which will again be directed by William J. Stribling, who will return to co-write the script with Russ Nickel. So the original team is staying together on this one, which means we should see roles for fellow WWE superstar Dolph Ziggler, and co-star Sean Marquette.
The Speed of Time stars Morrison as Johnny Killfire, a future cop who comes to our present to warn his younger self about the threat of the Timeborgs, who plan to get their hands on an app that could destroy all of time and space by delivering pizzas to the past before they were ever ordered.
Yeah, it’s pretty silly, but also full of some really slick action thanks to Morrison’s athletic ability and parkour background. You can check out the short below.
