Steven Soderbergh To Help Matt Reeves Complete ‘The Batman Part II’

Over the last couple of weeks, production on The Batman Part II has been stalled while director Matt Reeves deals with an ongoing family matter. But the show must go on, and Deadline has learned that Steven Soderbergh has come aboard to help complete principal photography.

Reeves and Soderbergh wil work together to complete The Batman Part II, which returns Robert Pattinson to the role of the Dark Knight. The Oscar-winning Soderbergh reached out to aid Reeves, as he’s been a longtime admirer of his work. Post-production will be completed by Reeves when he’s able to return.

Soderbergh issued a statement on the news: “I thought Matt Reeves’ work on The Batman was stunning; it was intentional, specific, and rigorously coherent. The goal here is to work with Matt and his team to generate footage that will integrate seamlessly with what’s already been shot so Matt can properly finish his film.”

Reeves also posted a message on social media, confirming Soderbergh’s involvement but making it clear that he’s not going anywhere…

The Batman Part II is set to open on February 18th 2028 with Robert Pattinson, Andy Serkis, Barry Keoghan, Jeffrey Wright and Colin Farrell, with Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Brian Tyree Henry, Charles Dance, and Jayme Lawson starring.

Whatever Reeeves is going through, let’s send him our best and offer him the privacy he and his familly need. That’s way more important than the completion of any movie.
