The Western genre has always had its ups and downs in terms of popularity, but lately it seems to be riding high, whether on the big screen, as prestige television, or as lean ‘n mean indie thrillers. The latter is where we find The Isolate Thief, a new Civil War-era Western starring Mackenzie Foy and directed by John Suits.
The Isolate Thief stars Foy as a young woman guarding a Union Army outpost, who comes under attack by a gang of outlaws after a stash of gold unexpectedly comes into her possession.
Suits, who previously helmed the 2019 sci-fi thriller 3022, directs from a script by Kevin Lefler.
Foy is best known for her roles in Interstellar, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, and The Conjuring franchise. She’s joined in the cast by Odeya Rush, Jack Kesy, Ty Simpkins, Martin Sensmeier, Joe Pantoliano and Sean Bean.
SYNOPSIS: One bitter-cold winter during the Civil War, a young woman becomes the lone caretaker of a remote Union Army outpost. When a stash of stolen gold falls into her lap, a gang of vicious outlaws comes looking for it. As they turn her home into a battleground, she must stay one step ahead of them in order to survive.
