‘The Mandalorian And Grogu’ Trailer: Lucasfilm Brings ‘Star Wars’ Back To The Big Screen In May

Lucasfilm dropped a parody trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu during the Super Bowl, designed to resemble classic beer commercials that would air during the big game. Fans didn’t dig it, and a promise was made by Disney that a new, more traditional promo would be released soon. Well, it’s here, and if this doesn’t make the traditionalists excited, nothing will.

The footage begins with a classic shot of X-wing fighters backed by a setting sun, and includes plenty of gunfights, a mysterious warrior cloaked in darkness, the Hutts, Sigourney Weaver, and an alien that sounds suspiciously like Martin Scorsese. Grogu is there and having a blast, it seems.

Jon Favreau is back behind the camera, bringing the hit TV series to the big screen. That could be both a blessing and a curse, though. Fans may be willing to plunk down a few bucks to see a feature film version of the show, but they might also see it as a movie they can wait to see on Disney+.

Pedro Pascal is back as Din Djarin, joined by Weaver, the voice of Jeremy Allen White, plus Jonny Coyne and Steve Blum.

The Mandalorian and Grogu hits theaters on May 22nd.
